Summary

During the first lockdown, like many people, I turned to passion projects. Mine was a long-form interview podcast format, The QuaranTea Break Podcast. In the weekly show, I interviewed some of the biggest names in the world of entertainment about how they dealt with the new world of self-isolation and social distancing - as well as what they'd been watching, reading and doing.

I recorded, scripted and hosted the podcast and produced and edited each episode ready to air. I also booked the guests, devised social marketing material to promote each episode and made the host cups of tea (it was lockdown, both were me).

Guests included actors Robert Webb, Rufus Jones, Paul Chahidi, Tracy Ann-Oberman, Callum Scott Howells, Katherine Rose Morley and Jason Watkins, The Inbetweeners creators Iain Morris and Damon Beesley, writers James Graham, Sarah Phelps, Stephen S. Thompson, presenters Jake Humphrey, Simon Rimmer and Dev Griffin and stand-ups Kiri Pritchard-McLean and Dane Baptiste.

As well as the usual lockdown chat, we touched on serious topics that arose from that time, such as grief, isolation and loneliness. Regrettably, we also had to talk about the "Imagine" video.

The response to the podcast was overwhelming, reaching 31 in the overall Apple Podcast charts, and fourth in TV podcasts. Individual episodes did even better. Even Will Arnett tweeted about it.
